Just Stop Oil Protesters Disrupt Duke of Westminster's Wedding

Activists Arrested After Attempting to Disrupt Ceremony

Two Just Stop Oil supporters disrupted the wedding of the Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral on Saturday. The protesters set off a fire extinguisher meters away from the bride, who was wearing a dress and veil designed by Emma Victoria Payne.

In a statement issued by Just Stop Oil, the group said its activists had disrupted the wedding to highlight the need for urgent action on climate change. "The climate crisis is the biggest threat facing humanity, and we cannot afford to keep ignoring it," the statement said.

The Duke of Westminster, who is the godson of King Charles III, married Olivia Henson at the cathedral earlier with Prince William and Kate Middleton in attendance. The wedding was described as the "society wedding of the year."

The environmental protest group Just Stop Oil said its activists had disrupted the Duke of Westminster's wedding to highlight the need for urgent action on climate change.
